Having barely survived a car accident two years ago, fashion magazine editor Lauren Tinsdale can’t remember her past. Ray Butler, the new man in her life, would give anything to forget his.
Ray, a roguishly handsome divorce attorney, is just as successful at dismantling other people’s relationships as he is inept at maintaining his own. Six years ago he made a mistake that claimed the life of his fiancée and will forever haunt two strangers, and he has never has been able to forgive himself. Unfortunately for Ray, Lauren is as infuriatingly obstinate as she is seductive. No matter how many times he tries to convince her it would never work—he’s a decade her senior, abrasively rough around the edges and, worse, a republican—he always ends up wondering if she might the one to restore his faith in love.
Ray knows, however, that if he does succumb to the temptation, Lauren will eventually find out she was there the day his life changed forever. Not only will the worst thing he ever did forever define him in her memory, he’ll assuredly drown anew in the loss he suffered all those years ago. The only way to protect them both is to walk away, but it’s a feat made nearly impossible by her ability to adore the man he is behind the emotional scars.
When the truth finally comes to light at the most inopportune moment, so many nagging questions are answered, yet two remain. Will Ray ever be able to find redemption for a lifetime of hurting those he loves and, perhaps more importantly, now he has broken Lauren’s heart, will she still be able to love him with all the little pieces?

Absolutely agree with A. Lineaweaver's review of this novel.Spoiler Alert.
I couldn't understand why anyone would declare everlasting love for an older man who: got her hooked on drugs when she's in her teens, verbally and physically abused her, left her for dead on a bar's bathroom floor, goes viciously berserk when he's off his bi-polar meds, nearly kills her in a car accident, hides the truth about her identity to his son, and strings along for almost the entire novel. Sorry, obviously the author wanted a "love will always find its way" kind of theme but in reality all I felt was disgust for both the leading characters. No sympathy for either of them only for Ian who ended up with such wacko parents.

All The Little Pieces edition by Devina Douglas Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
I have enjoyed every one of Devina 's books, and this is the best one yet--Devina made the characters come alive and I could visualize the anguish of poor Lauren. I highly recommend this book to readers of all interests.
This book is a little like a piece of grissley steak. It looks ok on the surface, but once you dig in it becomes unappealing and unwieldy to swallow. This book hinges upon one revelation that exposes the true nature and past of the protagonists. I will say this "bomb" is far from jaw dropping. I found myself constantly questioning the appeal of these people. He's a ass with a DSM-IV diagnosis; she's a seemingly friendless, but stylish, loner. Together they equal love?
I won't get into it, but I think the point was to illustrate the schlocky axiom of "love means never having to say you're sorry". I had a fundamental problem buying it or understanding why these two people have anything to do with each other. They are brutally cruel to each other, but they are like a moth to a flame. I don't understand how this mindless connection is romantic or appealing. It was a like watching "Days of Wine and Roses" or "Ironweed" for the sentiment. It was just kind of icky.
I will say the depiction of disability was refreshing.
That being said, I was affected enough to write a review. So that says something, right?
